About the Author

J.D. McClatchy was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, in 1945. He is a graduate of Yale University and the University of Iowa Writers' Workshop. He has taught at Yale, Columbia, and New York University. He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the National Book Award, the Pulitzer Prize, and the National Medal of Arts.
